Wren invests £35m into Electric fleet
Supporting the next phase of our growth and commitment towards Net Zero.
Leading UK kitchen retailer Wren has launched a tree-planting initiative in Hull, taking meaningful steps to reduce its environmental impact and support a more sustainable future for local communities and the wider planet.
Thankfully there was a break in the rain on Saturday 2nd March as more than 300 Wren employees and their families – welly boots on and spades in hands – turned up to support Wren plant more than 2,000 new trees in the Costello playing fields, Anlaby Park Road, Hull, which is part of Wren’s environmental roadmap to become carbon neutral.

The Right Worshipful Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber, Councillor Kalvin Neal officially opened the event by planting his own beech tree and thanking everyone for giving up their Saturday morning to contribute to such an important and worthwhile initiative. Driven and wholly funded by Wren, Saturday’s efforts were in support of Hull City Council’s local biodiversity restoration project.
“The future of the planet is in our hands and I am proud to be part of today’s project which will help provide resilience and protection of our precious planet for generations to come. This inspiring project will only help get nature’s legacy back on track towards a greener and more sustainable future.”
Wren’s tree planting initiative started in Scotland at the end of 2023, when they planted more than 2,200 trees to replace some of the 16 million that were damaged by Storm Arwen in 2022.

Wren Contracts are proud to have pledged to plant one tree for every Contract kitchen installed and already we’ve planted more than 5,000 trees across the UK. Our aim is to plant more than 1 million trees over the next 10 years. We also donate trees to our property development client’s landscaping and biodiversity schemes.
By working with Wren, you’re not only investing in quality and design, you’re partnering with an established company that’s committed to protecting the future and making more responsible choices today. Together, we can do better for the environment.
