Wren invests £35m into Electric fleet

With customer demand continuing to grow, we’re investing £35 million to expand our delivery fleet and support the next phase of Wren’s growth, while continuing to take meaningful steps towards Net Zero.

As part of this investment, we’re introducing new Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric HGVs to our operations at Barton-upon-Humber. These vehicles will support some of our most demanding inbound logistics routes, helping to reduce emissions across our supply chain while maintaining the delivery standards our customers expect.

This latest investment builds on our wider sustainability programme, including the installation of the UK’s largest single-roof solar array at our manufacturing complex, which is expected to provide over 35% of the factory’s energy demand.

Alongside our wider transport upgrade to the latest Euro 6 standard, biofuel-compatible vehicles, this marks another important step in Wren’s strategic approach to decarbonisation – from manufacturing through to the customer’s door.

Lee Holmes, Transport and Logistics Director at Wren, said:

“The arrival of our first Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks is a landmark moment in our sustainability journey. We are renewing and expanding our fleet to help meet the demands of our growing business, while continuing our investment to reduce our environmental impact.”

We’re proud to be investing in the future of our business, our customers sand the environment.
