Wren invests £35m into Electric fleet
Supporting the next phase of our growth and commitment towards Net Zero.
Back in 2023, our gardener David spotted an opportunity to transform the fields surrounding our Howden factory into something special – a dedicated bee conservation site. With his expertise and a lot of care, our beekeeping journey began.
Today, we have nine thriving hives across our Howden and Barton sites, home to nearly half a million bees during the summer months. And this week, colleagues are enjoying a fresh batch of honey produced by our very own bees!

But the hives are just part of the story. Alongside them, we launched our ‘Trees for Bees’ initiative – planting over 400 bee- and pollinator-friendly trees, including more than 220 at Howden alone. We’ve also introduced dedicated wildflower areas at The Nest to expand foraging space and boost biodiversity across our sites.
It’s a small but meaningful way we’re investing in the ecosystems around us, creating richer habitats where pollinators can thrive.
From kitchens to conservation, we’re proud to play our part.
